Ending the Summer at Sunrise View Beach Resort

After more than a month of planning to go to Mati City for our summer getaway, my friends and I ended up going to Sunrise View Beach Resort in Samal Island instead. We needed somewhere with shorter travel time, thus the choice Samal resort. It doesn’t mean we didn’t have fun though. Still, it was a great summer ender.

A Laid-Back Resort

Sunrise View Beach Resort is located in the quiet barangay of Caliclic, Samal Island, and is about 6 minutes away by tricycle/motorcyle ride from Babak wharf. The resort is modest in area size as it was supposedly a private resort before the owner opened it to public beach-goers. But despite the size, this laid-back resort is definitely comparable to high-end beach resorts in Samal Island in terms of ambiance and overall quality. The easily accessible location makes it ideal for unplanned, but satisfying beach getaway.

How To Get There

The easiest way to reach Sunrise View Beach Resort is by heading to Sasa Wharf and ride a Ro-Ro boat/barge to Babak Wharf. From Babak Wharf, hire a tricycle or motorcyle to take you directly to the resort. Travel time is only 6-7 minutes.

Alternatively, there is a boat at LANANG BOAT CLUB that can take you there, especially if you’re a group. For this alternative, you may need to coordinate with the resort upon reservation.
